Big words
Show and Tell…
What to bring? This is always the question that comes up some time during the week before Friday comes along. This time Mark came up with the idea.
“Hey, Nathan, would you like mom to take a picture of your secret room so you can show it to your class for Show & Tell?”
My immediate question was whether Nathan was allowed to bring a picture. I have discovered throughout the year that Mrs. Gerber has some strict restrictions to what can be brought in.
Nathan thought on it and then replied in his drawn out speech:
“Well. You see. If I put a photo in my bookbag, it might get bent and ruined.”
I reassured Nathan that we could keep it safe in his homework folder.
“Well…I don’t think I’ll bring a photo. My intuition tells me that the photo could get ruined so I better not.”
Whaaaaa? Did I just hear the word intuition exiting my 5 year old’s mouth?
“Nathan, how in the world do you know the word intuition?”
“I know it means something in your mind that tells you something.”
“I know, but how in the world do you know that word? Does Mrs. Gerber say it?”
(Long silence)
“Cmon, Nathan,” I begged, “Spill the beans. Mommy is super curious to know where you have heard that word.”
(Long Pause)
“Okay…
It’s from Scooby Doo! They use their intuition, you know.”
Who would have thunk it? Scooby Doo, of all things!

I love that! He not only used it but used it correctly; that is AWESOME! Way to go, Scooby... :<)
(p.s. do you know why your blog comments won't allow me to change to OpenID/Wordpress as my sign-in? Most of the comment sections in Blogger have a spot where you can choose OpenID, and that's what I always do now since I rarely update my Blogger blog anymore. Just wondered why your site is different..)
What a little show off! LOL Every day when Craig gets off the bus I ask him if he got sent to the office. He rolls his eyes and says "NO!" I asked Weston the same thing about a month ago and he yelled "NO!" to which I replied (aunts know everything, you know) that yes he did-the day before he had gotten sick and was sent to the office. He thought about it a minute and had to agree that he had indeed technically been sent to the office. Well, Craig has been very proud that unlike Weston, he has never been sent to the office, until TODAY. He had a pink eye (He has a cold in his eye). He is very bummed that now Nathan is the lone remaining member of the amigos who hasn't made it to the office yet. LOL
So what did he take for show and tell?
Ive always been partial to Scooby Doo.
Do you ever read Beck's blog, Frog and Toad are still Friends ?
She did this thing to children's stories for Halloween, that still makes me shudder when I think of them. Look here for her Scooby Doo offering. http://frogandtoadarestillfriends.blogspot.com/2009/10/haunting-at-animal-clinic.html

He sounds so smart! I hope it didn't get ruined, since this picture is so cute!
The things kids figure out! Thanks for the comments on my picture! It was so much fun meeting you too. I had a blast with you guys! It is so nice to have friends in the blogging world now, and actually be able to put a face and personality with them! My ankle is fine...just a sprain. I"ll hobble around for a few days and laugh at myself for being so stupid sometimes! hahaha... Just kidding! Thanks for asking! I am glad you guys finally made it home! Now if we can only catch up on our sleep!
My intuition is telling me that Nathan is going to be the President of the United States someday in the future. LOL!
