2 ninjas and a pirate

Every year, our family has a tradition.  My side of the family goes trick-or-treating together in a family-oriented neighborhood nearby.  We all experience a bit of guilt trick-or-treating away from our neighborhood, but both of my sisters live in the country.  There’s nothing available where they’re at.  I live in a shady area (da’ hood…okay not that bad) and prefer this arrangement anyway.

By the time we got to our spot, dark was approaching quickly.  I managed to get a couple snapshots in before it became impossible to get a good photo.  My brother and sister-in-law were there also.

By the time Angie got there, I wasn’t able to get any decent shots from my camera.  She brought her flash, so I’m hoping that she got better pictures.

nathan This was the one and only shot I got of Nathan.  Filling up that basket became his serious priority, and there was no stopping for pictures!

This little cutie hung out with me for a little bit until Uncle Jon got a hold of her.  He had some devious plan to use her cuteness to rake in the goodies which he thought maybe he would get her to share with him.  Clearly, Jon does not understand the extent of Jordyn’s sweet tooth.

This photo was taken at the second house we went to.  Jordyn insisted on having that sucker, which did not leave her mouth for the rest of the night.jordyn

Jon very sweetly carried Jordyn around on his shoulders. That lasted a few minutes until I saw Jon quickly hand Jordyn off to Kathy.  It seems that the sucker permanently lodged in Jordyn’s mouth was producing massive amounts of saliva which Jordyn deposited on Jon’s head.  Gotta love Jon’s face!  :)

Jon decided that Ben was a bit less risky.  He allowed Ben to go up and get his candy.  As soon as Ben came back to his uncle, he got a speedy transfer to the next house with Jon lifting him up and running.ben

Thanks to Jon taking care of Ben, and Janine watching over Nathan, I had a pretty easy night.  It got even easier when Mark put Jordyn in the car with him and let her watch movies and eat her candy!

We finished off the evening having dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.  It was nice to get out and just have fun!

Those are great!!! I got practically nada, and what I did get was blurry because we were in a hurry and the light was gone and I couldn't get my settings right... oh, blah. You, on the other hand, got some fantastic pics, especially of your pretty little pirate! Love the ones of her with her uncle.. he and you share the same smile, too! What a great family you have... (yes, Angie, I'm even talkin' about you... :<) )

Your pirate is SO adorable! OH MY GOSH! And of course the boys are super cute too! I love your pictures. Even the one where the light is fading and Ben is running. You always make me smile. Your parenting is outstanding! And you have a heart of gold!

I came downstairs just to leave this comment. I was all snuggled in my nice warm bed!

Rebeckah just sent me an email that said "I saw you over trick-or-treating on Drew's blog" and almost had a heart attack. I thought there was another wide-load Angie photo on here or something. LOL! Guess she just meant that she heard about us all trick-or-treating together. Hee!

The kids looked awesome! So funny about the massive amount of saliva on the head. LOL What a fun time with family! These are days when I wish I had siblings. It's difficult to be an only child at times. :( Can I be your adopted sister? ;)

About Me

Drew
I'm a Christian, wife, mom, teacher and computer addict. I started my family blog years ago in an attempt to document daily happenings. (I knew I'd forget everything before I ever had a chance to scrapbook so I'd better write it down!) After seeing the incredible improvement in photography my sister made after having a "Year in Photos" site, I was inspired to start my own. So now I have my "gross stories from a typical day with my kids" blog and my daily photo blog. Hope you enjoy!
