I Heart Faces - Contemplative

nathan vintage

Wish I hadn’t taken this in direct sunlight, but I do like the expression on my son’s face.  What’s better to contemplate than the wonder of a frog?  Whether it be worms, frogs or bugs…if my guy sees one, he is enthralled.  Now, if only I could get him as excited about writing!  :)

This week is all about being contemplative.  I’m sure there will be many different takes on this theme.  Go check it out at I ♥ Faces!

Oh I love this. I am sure this is the kind of stuff that is in my future.

I think that's a fabulous picture for being in direct sunlight! It just adds to the mood and highlights that frog perfectly! I'm kind of glad I have girls because I don't think I could handle all the frog-touching and bugs and stuff! ;)

Thank you for your comment on my picture! I think the trick for good pictures is catching them when they don't know you're there! Then they can't glare at you!

The wonder of a frog : ) I love it. Very cool! And I love your handsome little boy. He is the sweetest Kindergartener in America, right? : )

I thought you might have gone to bed so I was going to enter your link for you but you are still up : ) Now go to sleep this instant! Not to be bossy or anything : )

I wonder what he is thinking... Even though you mentioned the sunlight, you have a good exposure on his face. Great picture.

Amanda 11:47 PM

This made me smile!

Direct sunlight is so difficult to work with, but you rocked it in this pic! Perfect for both themes. :)

Becky - Andrea's dear, sweet, beautiful, kind, wonderful, perfect sister entered her photo for her.

(Ahem. That would be ME. Of course. Hee!)

I think she is probably zonked out right now like a good little teacher should be. ;)

The frog in his hand makes me go Eww, but I LOVE the photo!

Tiaras 12:05 AM

great capture and give him time - he will toss those frogs soon enough

your guy has a frog and mine has a cricket. What is it with boys and all things creepy crawly. Too cute.

Bridgette 12:57 AM

Adorable!!!

Even with direct sunlight, it's a great capture. Your processing as usual is beautiful. I love your son's expression with the frog...definitely not the one that would be on my face. :-)

Did you end up keeping the frog? That's what happens in my house. I hope yours is different.

Awesome photo! I have a weakness for little shirtless boys in the summer. Especially contemplative ones. :)

Super cute. What a great capture. a boy and his frog. Doesn't get much better than that.

Annette 9:25 AM

Love it! Classic, boy and a gross frog {smile}. My son loves to catch frogs. I have a rule: "you may not have your hands cupped or behind your back and ask me to guess what you have". Inevitably, something jumps out at me from his hands

Carmen 9:54 AM

Great picture...I don't like frogs, kids seem to love them. I have little girls that love them.

Melinda 10:08 AM

Hmmmm...I wonder if this frog will really give me warts? Or maybe if I kiss it, it will turn into a really sexy woman - just like my mama : )

Hey lady! Yes, it is me...the neglectful blogger. Hope you've been doing well. I have missed you!!

AJ 11:04 AM

Awesome shot! I love the way he's contemplating that frog :).

Foursons 1:43 PM

I love boys for this very reason! What a great shot. And the sunlight isn't distracting at all.

Elizabeth 3:18 PM

Great boy pic!!

Monica Dyke 9:25 PM

This is a great photo. As you know we must be creative in direct sunlight. Sometimes it doesn't work out so well. In your photo the way the shadow is falling works. Nice job!

Brooke 9:33 PM

I love this picture! Not only does it really hit the theme for this week, but it's completely a picture for the All-American boy!

Mandi 10:27 PM

Your picture is all boy! My boys would die over that frog!

Dot O 11:21 AM

Drew, this is great!!! Nathan is so handsome and even the direct sunlight couldn't interfere with that. And that's all I'll say about it.

Have a great time this weekend!

This is a great shot. I love the tone of the photo. Is that an action? Also, you got Contemplative AND Pets in the same photo!!!

And, thanks for the comment on my dragonfly! I just used my regular ole semi-pro, on the Macro setting (no special lenses). I LOVE using the macro setting!!!

Hi. I have a question for you. I looked at your photo template for blogger tutorial in I heart faces. I uploaded the photoblog II blog, but by current pictures in previous posts are still small. Also, when I try to change the height/width in html the pictures are enlarged but they are fuzzy. I also use picasa to upload pics directly to my blog - but I can't seem to figure out how to make the pics larger in the past? can you help?? Thanks so much! www.bestrongclamgrateful.blogspot.com

About Me

My Photo
Drew
I'm a Christian, wife, mom, teacher and computer addict. I started my family blog years ago in an attempt to document daily happenings. (I knew I'd forget everything before I ever had a chance to scrapbook so I'd better write it down!) After seeing the incredible improvement in photography my sister made after having a "Year in Photos" site, I was inspired to start my own. So now I have my "gross stories from a typical day with my kids" blog and my daily photo blog. Hope you enjoy!
