Tangible Memories
I have finally gotten around to putting my photo printer to good use. Last night, I printed a ton of pictures. Do you know how rarely I get photos printed? Strange, I know. A million photos on my hard drive, probably 1% of that in print.
I bought a cheapo silver poster frame and made a photo collage out of some of the photos I printed. My intention was to get it hung up in the kitchen before my teacher friends came over today. That project didn’t get completed in time, so instead I stored it in the hallway.
As I was cleaning, I kept hearing happy squeals and laughter from Jordyn. It was so fun to discover her perched in front of the collage, the source of her delight. She spent a good amount of time just staring at the photos (and calling Mark “ma-ma”). Hmmm…
Later in the evening, all the kiddos enjoyed playing scavenger hunt with the photos. (Ex. Where’s Uncle Jeff? Can you find a frog? Which picture shows Ben running?)
If that’s not enough to persuade me to get around to printing my photos, I don’t know what will do the trick!

I love that shot! And what a great idea for kids to be able to enjoy too!
Now, does that mean you'll hang it about 12" from the floor? :)
Saw your tutorial that included Livewriter... I'm so dumb. I can't figure out why it didn't post to my REAL blog - and instead CREATED a blog on Livewriter. Which, ya know, no one follows, ha ha.
Looked everywhere to try to change it - any ideas?
Have a great day!
Love that shot :D Precious. Capturing a memory of a memories captured!
thanks for the tutorial. i like the way your blog looks too, very nice!
That's too perfect! I used to print my pics but it got so expensive with ink. What kind of printer do you use for your photos?
That is an adorable picture, and I can "hear" your kids' excitement as they look through all the pictures. I love collages but never even thought of doing it the traditional way (putting real photos together to make one). I've been throwing them together on Picnik or one of the photo printing sites (Snapfish, Shutterfly). I like your idea better. Hmmm.. I may even try one in my son's room using something like velcro... so I can change out the pictures when I want to! Or even let HIM arrange them. Oh, now my mind is spinning...
(and you KNOW my issues with BLogger templates and skins and getting painted into a corner. I would change mine but then am afraid I'd lose everything. I'll watch your tutorial and see if my aging brain can grasp the awesomeness that is Andrea-power...)
that is a terrific idea! i'm the same way...tons and tons of photos on my computer but not so many in print! i need to get better at printing them, but at this point it overwhelms me! usually i only print if i know i'll be scrapbooking...then it ends up being loads of money. i do have a photo printer...something to think about!
thanks for sharing, yet, another super idea! you are my bloggy hero!!!
Yay for you, Drew! I keep saying I am going to print out and still have yet to do it.
We take all of these photos and then they sit quietly on our hard drive instead of out on a wall where we can enjoy them.
Stop by my blog - I posted a few pics of our get together...
Aww this is really sweet. Thanks for not putting my photo in your collage. What kind of photo printer do you have, and do you like it? I found a few I like on Amazon but they seem to use up ink quickly.
I hope your vacation was relaxing. Mine never our! Anyways I have been talking to Angie about maybe getting together Tues. afternoon. Let me know if that works or not. I have to make arrangements for the kids, and Alisha needs to reserve that time to be our model. I can't imagine the great pictures we will get of her. She is beautiful.
That is a precious shot. Hi I am wanting to change my blog and plan to use the tutorial you sent out for I heart faces. Can you please tell me how I can create a photo banner in photoshop. I would love to do this. My e mail address is rfams4him@verizon.net

Sounds perfect for Tues. You and Andrea pick a spot and we will meet you there. Alisha has volleyball till 12:30, so I'm thinking around 1:30 or 2:00 we can meet you depending where it is. I know that is late in the day, but she has volleyball everyday now till school starts. They think there life is suppose to revolve around volleyball. Oh well, if it is sunny we will find some shade somewhere, or practice our pictures in the sun. I do have some questions for you and Angie though. I was on a photo shoot the other day with one of Alisha's friends, and I couldn't get the lighting right on my camera for anything, so we just had to move on to another spot. I tried everything I could think of to change on there, and it didn't work. Maybe you two will have some great suggestions. Can't wait!!!!! I love learning! It's been awhile since I have gotten to use my brain. There is only so much of your brain you need to use when your doing laundry, cooking, and cleaning the house. Let me know your thoughts on a place to meet on Tuesday.

Drew! Drew! Drew!
So today, I am sitting in this ULTRA boring training session learning how to be a case manager, and I just happen to click on your website and I LOVED THIS POST! The picture is perfect. I am so glad you did that! And guess what, loser me, doesn't even have a photo printer.
I get them developed sometimes but now my camera store is out of comission, so I don't know what I will do. I am not so ecstatic about CVS pictures.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. But anyway, back to when I saw this, I was actually making sounds because I was so excited. That's right. Sounds. My co workers were all staring at me. So I passed the phone around and they all admired your handi work. And my one friend, who is super techie : ) (like you) said that blog looks like it was designed by a computer programer. And then I told them you were a super star.
The end.
PS They all thought the kids were so cute. And I told them I was thinking about kidnapping them. And they told me not to because they would have to report me since they work for the state : ) And I don't have any idea why I am starting every sentence with And. This is ridiculous! I think I am pretending you are right here and I am talking to you. And. And. And.
Oh my goodness, I'm even worse than you at printing off my pics. This is an inspiration to get started!
