Wisdom from Nathan

july 4 - 16

This weekend, our cousins stayed at our house for the big family gathering.  Nathan was beyond excited to have Drew to hang out with.  Drew, on the other hand, was probably a bit overwhelmed by Nathan’s constant attention.

On Saturday, Nathan caught a toad.  He was having a hard time giving the toad up even though I warned him that the toad needed to be let go or it would die!

At the end of the day, we were talking about how Drew was going to leave in the morning.  Nathan thought on it a bit and then came up with this bit of wisdom:  “It’s kind of like the toad.  I don’t want Drew to leave, but I get to play with him.  Then I have to let him go and do what he wants to do.”

but come back with purple hands and berries in our bellies!"

Out of the mouth of babes. To have that kind of understanding at his age...impressive:)

Cute photo. We had the same discussion with our son last summer. Needless to say we ended up buying a fish the same day.

About Me

My Photo
Drew
I'm a Christian, wife, mom, teacher and computer addict. I started my family blog years ago in an attempt to document daily happenings. (I knew I'd forget everything before I ever had a chance to scrapbook so I'd better write it down!) After seeing the incredible improvement in photography my sister made after having a "Year in Photos" site, I was inspired to start my own. So now I have my "gross stories from a typical day with my kids" blog and my daily photo blog. Hope you enjoy!
