It’s official…summer’s here!

I didn’t feel like it was summer until today.  There were just so many things to be done.  Ben had his surgery on Friday.  I had Lasik done yesterday.  Today at school, I finalized the last 3 IEPs, wrote out an expense report for Power of the Pen and was officially checked out.  Now it feels like summer!

If you’re wondering, Lasik surgery was strange but bearable.  I am seeing very well now.  If it stays like this (and it should), I will be free of glasses and contacts…at least until I’m 40.  Then the dreaded reading glasses might make their appearance.  At this moment, I’m looking like an absolute hottie with eye shields taped to my face.  Guess it’s better than accidently rubbing my flaps loose during the middle of the night.  (Are you cringing yet?)

To celebrate the start of summer, after picking up the kids from Trinka’s, I took them to swim with their cousins at Pier-Lon.  After an hour or so, Jordyn started to get grumpy and hungry.  Shame of all shames…we left before Angie did.  Nathan complained the whole way home with comments like:  I guess my cousins get to have ALL the fun!  Next time, you need to bring a bottle, formula AND warm water!  Let’s feed Jordyn and then go back.  (That kept going the whole trip home)  Jordyn, on the other hand, fell asleep before we were out of Pier-Lon’s parking lot.

jordyn'So, that’s the start of summer for us.  On to potty training Ben and all that fun stuff!

Oh girl you are HOT! :)

don't you love how kids like to tell us how to do things?

Ugh...there's that word "flaps" again. The flippity, flappin', flappy-flaps. :)

So glad the surgery went so well for you...yay!!

And sorry we stayed at the lake longer than you. It was a grand transgression on our part for sure.

Ha! I laughed out loud (at work) when I saw your picture. I wasn't expecting you to post a pic. I'm glad the survey went well!

Kathy,

Sadly, I'll do just about anything for a laugh. I'm pathetic like that. :)

LOL! When I read "flaps" I thought to myself "She used that term just to make Angie's skin crawl!" ;)

My kids always hate to be the first to leave something, too. We've heard our share of "It's not fair!" over the years. I really do try not to be first to leave a party or activity, but sometimes you just have to.

Happy Summer!

I just BURST out laughing about your HOT picture after Lasik : )
You always make me smile!

One of my favorite things about the pool is how exhausted it makes Kaish! He is out like a light after a trip to the pool. Blissful bedtimes make me SO happy!

You are right about how sparklers add up. I think we are already at our limit in spending for them. He just loves them so much though. I can't help myself!

I am SO glad school is all done for you! Phew!

Drew
I'm a Christian, wife, mom, teacher and computer addict. I started my family blog years ago in an attempt to document daily happenings. (I knew I'd forget everything before I ever had a chance to scrapbook so I'd better write it down!) After seeing the incredible improvement in photography my sister made after having a "Year in Photos" site, I was inspired to start my own. So now I have my "gross stories from a typical day with my kids" blog and my daily photo blog. Hope you enjoy!
