I’m a schmuck!

Yesterday, Mark snuck into the house barely able to contain his excitement.  I was upstairs trying to get Jordyn to sleep.  When I came downstairs, I was greeted with 3 dozen roses and a card.

The card mentioned that the tenth anniversary is represented with tin and leather.  Mark, of course, made some “precious” comments about leather, but decided to go with the tin (metal) theme starting with a foil balloon attached to a bag.  In the bag were foil-wrapped chocolates, Excedrin wrapped in foil (according to Mark so I would be “headache free”) and a box wrapped in foil.  Inside the box was this little treasure:

About a week ago, I casually mentioned to Angie that I wanted to get a video camera that was small enough to carry around in my purse.  Mark and I don’t take videos of the kids very often because we forget to bring the video camera with us.  Angie, in turn, must have shared this little tidbit of information with Mark.

Being the unromantic person I am, upon unwrapping the gift, my first response to Mark was, “Did you research this?  Is it a good camera?”  (I know…I need help.)

After doing some research and tossing around different options, I finally broke the seal on the box.  The quality on the camera isn’t as good as our other, bigger camera, but I figure that the quality of the camera doesn’t matter if you never use it.  This camera will be kept in my purse, and hopefully used on a regular basis.  It records on an SD card, and really is very nifty and small.

This surprise was totally unexpected, especially since Mark has given me regular updates on our dwindling bank account.  We usually don’t buy gift for anniversaries, so I didn’t get Mark anything.  Very schmucky of me considering that it was our tenth!

Yesterday, we actually went on our first date together in a LONG time.  A whole week in advance, we got a babysitter.  (Pretty darn good for us!)  We then went to see this movie:

It was pretty funny.  It is just amazing that 10 years has passed by already.  It definitely doesn’t seem like it.

I’ll leave you with a video of our little monkey taken with the new video camera.  Please excuse the poor quality.  I’m still trying to figure everything out.

Happy Anniversary Drew! Portability is exactly why I love my little camera. I never had the "good" one with me, because it was just one more clunky thing to carry. I can't wait to see more videos!

I love seeing other moms who are "geeky" like me and getting electronics for special occasion gifts! I got an Epson Artisan printer for Mother's Day and was thrilled. My friends got $$ purses and massages.

Drew
I'm a Christian, wife, mom, teacher and computer addict. I started my family blog years ago in an attempt to document daily happenings. (I knew I'd forget everything before I ever had a chance to scrapbook so I'd better write it down!) After seeing the incredible improvement in photography my sister made after having a "Year in Photos" site, I was inspired to start my own. So now I have my "gross stories from a typical day with my kids" blog and my daily photo blog. Hope you enjoy!
