Could you repeat that?

Nathan’s leg is red and itchy and has been that way for days.  Not willing to tough it out quietly, he has whined, cried and demanded that lotion be rubbed on it constantly.  I decided to head over to our local dollar store to see if they had Benadryl.  When I couldn’t find it on the shelf, I asked the cashier if they carried it.

After stating that they didn’t, the cashier and I started talking about other things.  As I was paying, she said, “Does you daughter have allergies?”

By that time, I had forgotten all about the Benadryl question.  My assumption was that Jordyn’s eyes maybe looked a bit red which caused the cashier to ask.

I looked at her and said, “She may.  I’ve mentioned it to the doctor before, but he doesn’t think it’s a concern.”

The cashier got a really puzzled look on her face and pointed at Jordyn.  “Are you talking about her?”

JORDYN

“Yes.”

She stuttered around a bit, and then said, “I don’t think I heard you right.  What did you say?”

(This was getting a bit strange.)

“I just said that she might have allergies.”

The cashier started giggling.  “I could have sworn that you said that she’s gay.  I had no idea how you would know your toddler is gay, why you were telling me about it and what in the world it had to do with Benadryl!”

Too funny!  Guess I need to start enunciating more!

Hey Andrea, Cortizone cream works wonders on skin that itches... it worked for Nathan on Sunday. I wish I had sent some home with you so he could avoid the scratching plague... What conversations you have...too funny!!!

How are you and your gay baby today : )

I loved your comments about that product. You know that I am on the same page as you! That salesman did want me to put the 3,500 on a credit card. That is just RIDICULOUS.

I just saw the fun slip and slide at your other sisters church. I seriously want your mother to adopt me. : )! You guys have so much fun! It borders on insane!

Drew
I'm a Christian, wife, mom, teacher and computer addict. I started my family blog years ago in an attempt to document daily happenings. (I knew I'd forget everything before I ever had a chance to scrapbook so I'd better write it down!) After seeing the incredible improvement in photography my sister made after having a "Year in Photos" site, I was inspired to start my own. So now I have my "gross stories from a typical day with my kids" blog and my daily photo blog. Hope you enjoy!
