Fix-it Friday #13
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(AFTER PICTURE)
Since I’m not a contributor this week, instead of writing down every step I took in Elements, I just played. It was fun! :)
I hope you’ll give this week’s fix-it a try too!
You CAN'T edit something so beautifully and NOT give us some tips. I have Elements, too. Please, please hook us up!! :)
All right. :) Here's what I can remember. I edited the picture in RAW before bringing it into Elements. I used a brush tool on the face and a combination of the brush tool and clone stamp on the arms. I used a hue saturation layer to get the color more to my liking. I selected just the face and lightened that up slightly. Flatten. Then I duplicated the layer and changed it to a screen layer on the top layer and reduced the opacity. Flatten. I duplicated the layer again and used a color pop action from Coffeeshop several times. I then used a layer mask action (from Coffeeshop) after moving the colorful layer to the bottom. I then painted the flowers so that the really bright colors would come through from the bottom layer. Flatten. I sharpened the eyelashes. That's all I can remember. Hope that helps. :)
Love this colors in your fix!
This is a gorgeous fix...I wish I could even understand your directions on how to do it. I still have so much to learn!
Beautiful, Drew! (of course, I've come to expect nothing less from you!!). I really like your color pop on this. I grinned as I read your commentary, cause I, too, totally enjoyed playing without keeping notes - amazing how much faster editing happens without notes!
I remember when Angie posted it on her blog and said she thought it was a bad pic...everything she thinks is bad I think is great!
You both did a wonderful job
This is so pretty! She looks like an angel... well even more of an angel than she already did:-) Great edit as usual!!
I love it! It balances out so well, especially her skin tone against the vibrant flowers.
You are amazing! You make it look so easy, but it's NOT!!
Thank you for explaining your edit process!
I still have so much to learn! Yikes!!
I love it : ). Like always! Praying that this day of stress at school FLIES by!
Wow, this is REALLY beautiful!
I like how bright you were able to make it.
That's beautiful, Drew! I love the fade out... so dreamy! And the way the flowers just pop... that's fit to frame now. You are a master (and you really, really make me want to get Photoshop, darn it).
Beautiful! I love the fade-out, too :). Thank you for sharing!
That pink is beautiful!
I have PSE 6 and I want to know how you made her skin look so smoothe. Do tell!
HI, love what you did with the photo! Your sister commented on my photoblog that I should check out your pics as you use PSE too. I don't have the patience to learn the Big McDaddy photoshop, so I dabble in Lightroom and PSE.
Any tips, please come on over. I would really love to learn how to create some presets and becoming more proficient at the brush tool.
thanks for the tips here. Could I hire you LOL.
Here's my photo blog http://shutterbug-ivy.blogspot.com/ I loved the layer I used and then I inverted it to give the same softness all around.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Ivy
